OS X and Linux beta versions

The first public beta for ESET NOD32 Antivirus for Mac OS X Desktop is now available.

"Based on our technology for BSD, Linux, and Solaris servers, ESET NOD32 Antivirus for Mac OS X Desktop has evolved to provide a GUI and feature set similiar to ESET NOD32 Antivirus for Microsoft Windows."

The first public beta for ESET NOD32 Antivirus for Linux Desktop is also available and shares a similar evolution.

Outstanding to hear.  Feel so naked on my Mac.  Use to always having Antivirus for my PCs.

I have already a PC license. Any chance we could get a discount for a MAC license?
Many (almost all) users of MACs argue that there are no viruses for this platform and no need for an AV. What do you reply to these arguments? Which viruses does this beta version detect?
    Thank you

It’s far to early for research to even begin to speculate about how sales and marketing will price a product that isn’t released. When it isn’t too early, we in research are to smart to talk about it :) I’m sure the details will be announced when the product releases.

  • I hope the many bug reports I have submitted will be resolved before releasing this as a final product. The performance is poor, the user interface is sluggish and has many bugs, and the application doesn’t meat the expectations of an OS X user.
I will definitely buy this product if the performance gets up to the level it is on Windows,  and the user interface gets Macified.
Using EAV is mandatory for all Windows machines where I work. I wonder if this policy will be extended to Linux and Macs too. :) Best of luck with the finalisation of EAV4 for Unix!
