Janeleiro banking trojan takes aim at Brazil – Lazarus deploys Vyveva backdoor in South Africa – The long shelf life of leaked data

ESET researchers have been tracking Janeleiro, a newly discovered banking trojan that has been targeting companies operating in various sectors in Brazil. In another dicovery, ESET experts have uncovered a backdoor that they named Vyveva and that was deployed by Lazarus against a freight logistics company in South Africa. We also discuss the implications of the recent data leak affecting half a billion Facebook users and highlight the fact that most of the data is timeless and could be used for identity theft and various scams.
