Comments on: Online Shopping and a Phishing Pheeding Phrenzy News, Views, and Insight from the ESET Security Community Mon, 03 Feb 2014 08:49:00 +0000 hourly 1 By: Sua Thu, 01 Nov 2012 03:22:21 +0000 (Malaysia)This recalled me about the incident which my father had been cheated by scam few years ago.My father is a dog maniac and he does like to surf to websites which related about dogs.One day, I didnt realize he had received a scam email about an offer of selling a dog to him.He got attracted immediately by the dog's appearance in the photo and by the next day he quickly made his payment  to a Western Union bank account which was written in the scam email.Few days later,I was watching television and I unintentionally saw about what he was reading in front of the computer.The scam email informed that they had received my father's payment but "coincidentally" the dog had just died.They could even pretend to mourn the dog's death.At that moment,I had started to realize he had been cheated even though he has kept it as a secret until today.I told my mom and she told me that once payment is made to a Western Union bank account,you couldn't retrieve it back.I hope my father would learn the lesson.
