As far as I remember, there’s an option in G+ to share a post with people who don’t have an account using the email, though I seem somehow to have disabled it, or it’s disappeared. But it doesn’t create an account for them. If your friend stops using it or removes you from her circles, you shouldn’t get the email notifications AFAIK.

By: Vicki http://www.welivesecurity.com/2012/09/24/facebook-timeline-security-privacy-keeping-your-account-identity-safe-part-2/#comment-1140 Tue, 25 Sep 2012 06:02:01 +0000 http://blog.eset.com/?p=15271#comment-1140 Thank you for helping people protect their accounts and identities on Facebook.  Even though I closed my account almost 8 or 9 months ago, I still like reading about Facebook because it is such a scourge as far as social sites go and Google+ is quickly becoming as bad.  I never set up a Google+ account, but a friend of mine decided to include me in her circle of friends and no matter what I do, I can't figure out how to get my account closed.  I hate these social sites and everything that goes with them and it's not right that someone can force you to join by just including you as a friend.  I'm also upset that she did this because she knows how much I distrust Facebook, but she did it anyway.  Now, it's just a mess trying to get untangled from Google+.  I always love your articles, Cameron, and I have so much catching up to do by reading all my Eset Threat Blogs, but ill health and now a friend who was involved in a serious accident have kept me from my computer for way too long.  Thank you and your team at ESET for all you do for us.
